October 2024 

October!  Who can believe it is October already?  My, how time flies.  We have been so busy at Shelby Senior Services that we hardly noticed that it is October already.  We would like to take a moment and thank Girls, Inc. for collaborating with us for the “Bootleggers Ball” that we had on September 14. It was a huge success. The funds that we raised will be used to further the mission of Shelby Senior Services for the coming year.  We are so grateful for the community, vendors, everyone who donated, everyone who attended and all the sponsors who helped make this possible.  We could not have pulled this off without everyone who contributed in one way or another. I think it was a fun evening had by all.  We had wonderful weather to be able to have the alley open for a cigar bar.  We are thankful to be able to work with Girls, Inc. so closely to make it possible for both agencies to continue our missions.

October means it is Medicare Open Enrollment from October 15 through December 7, 2024.  Kathy McFarland, SHIP Counselor, will be taking appointments to work with anyone on their insurance choices.  She will help go over your options whether it be traditional Medicare and a supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan.  She will help you look at your medications and see what plan is a good fit for you and your lifestyle.  To set up an appointment to meet with Kathy, just give us a call at 317-398-0127 or stop in Shelby Senior Services, 2120 Intelliplex Drive, Suite 101, Shelbyville, IN 46176.  We look forward to speaking with you.
