Whether you are looking to make a difference, gain valuable experience or simply share your time and talents, our four horizon centers offer a welcoming space where your presence can brighten someone’s day. So much of the assistance we provide to the older generation in Shelby County could not be accomplished without the help of volunteers. We would love for you to apply to help our senior community. What to Know #### Volunteer Opportunities ### General Needs Make check-in calls Support family caregivers Cook a meal, clean a kitchen Rake leaves, shovel snow Get groceries for shut-ins Organize a class Sharing any special talents ### Friendly Visitor A friendly visit or a phone call makes the day of our seniors who are often lonely or homebound. Our volunteers play cards, listen to or play their favorite music or do manicures for seniors wanting their fingernails painted. ### AARP Tax-Aide Program This is a volunteer-operated counseling and preparation program. We are always seeking people who have experience and knowledge of tax programs and want to give of their time. ### Musical Performance There is a piano at the Senior Center just waiting for your graceful hand! Music always puts a smile on our faces. If you have a musical gift, we would love to have you share your talent with us.
