the help of volunteers. The agency staff truly appreciates the dedication of its volunteers, however, at this time, additional volunteers
are needed to help satisfy the increased volume of services being sought by residents who are 55 years of age and older.
Do you have some time to help others? Volunteers are needed as:

- Cook a meal, clean a kitchen
- Rake leaves, shovel snow
- Drive seniors to out-of-county medical appointments
- Get groceries for shut-ins
- Organize a class at the Senior Center

There is a two-page application
to be filled out and signed by a physician, and temporary meals are

or other situations such as a fall. Meal recipients have to be able to
pay for their own meals, too. Meals are prepared by Major Hospital.

single meal delivery is $13, which comes to $2.60 a day, said Dee
Perkins, director of the local Meals on Wheels program. The weekly cost
for two meals daily, one hot meal and a deli-style meal, is $22.50 or
$4.50 a day. Payment is collected every Friday for the following week.
