Glick Awards $7,500 Grant to Shelby Senior Services

Written by Shelby Senior Services | July 15, 2025

Shelby Senior Services has received a $7,500 grant from Glick Philanthropies as part of a national effort to help communities. The funds will allow increased access to food security through home-bound food pantry deliveries and continued transportation sources for seniors within Shelby County.

Glick awarded $770,000 to 107 nonprofit organizations across 12 states through the Glick Community Relief Fund, an apartment property-nominated grant program focused on increasing healthy food access, expanding accessible transportation, connecting community members to utility assistance, and prioritizing mental health support.

“Glick Philanthropies is committed to offering support to nonprofit organizations that are supporting our most vulnerable community members in accessing their basic needs,” said Ben Grande, director of philanthropy at Glick Philanthropies.

Grande said the efforts of these organizations are especially critical now, as many of our neighbors will likely lose access to basic needs-related supports they rely on due to government funding cuts. The Glick Community Relief Fund helps organizations that are making meaningful contributions to communities, families and individuals across the country.

"We are committed to supporting access to basic needs in our communities, but we can’t do it alone. We’re excited to have received a grant from Glick Philanthropies, which will support our mission to best serve the seniors of Shelby County," said Liz Renton, Shelby Senior Services' executive director.

Since 2016, more than $5.5 million has been awarded to nearly 300 nonprofit organizations through the Glick property-nominated grant program.
