It’s Senior Center Month once again. It is a time to celebrate our Horizon Centers in Shelby County. The theme this year is “Building Momentum”. This is so fitting for our centers this year because we have so much to celebrate. We have moved into the new MHP Health and Wellness Center and are settling in nicely. We are excited to look to the future to see what it holds for the Seniors of Shelby County. As of this month, all four centers are back to their regular schedules and meeting every week. We are looking forward to the room we have available and filling it with lots of fun, laughter, and activities. We have many things planned. Please watch The Horizon Newsletter for up and coming happenings. Seniors can come in and try an activity of their choosing so that they can see what the Horizon Centers have to offer before becoming a member of Shelby Senior Services.
The Horizon Centers are having programs with food again such as Lunch and Learns and meals being served at Morristown, Waldron and Fairland Centers. The Shelbyville Center will be serving CICOA Lunches again as soon as the ovens are in place this month. We are excited to have food being served at the center again. It feels like we are getting back to normal as much as we can with COVID still being around. We are looking at new activities and programs to delight the seniors to keep everyone involved and moving. We are “Building Momentum.” Please come and grow with us. If there is an activity or program that you would like us to look into, please phone us at 317-398-0127, you can reach us www.shelbyseniorservices.org, or we would love to see you at 2120 Intelliplex Drive, Suite 101, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
